Job Purpose:



Uses knowledge of current graphic design software to produce promotions, advertisements, collateral materials, films, packaging, and informative and instructional material for online and print use. Visually communicates Living Water International's Christian ethos and mission.

Core Competencies and Technical Abilities:

+ Artistic Sensibility – Understanding of basic design principles—such as color, composition, and typography—is vital. Living Water seeks a graphic designer with artistic sensibility, creativity, and an ability to design across multiple mediums, including digital, environmental, and print

+ Technical Skill – This position requires a proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). Living Water is also looking for designers who keep up with current cultural, design, and technology trends.

+ Communication Ability – Living Water will require a graphic designer to have the ability to effectively present ideas—both verbally and visually.

+ Organization – The Living Water In-House Design Studio operates in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Organizational skills are crucial to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at once, and work within a budget. Living Water seeks a designer with a professional attitude and strong organizational skills. General business skills will also come in handy.

+ Problem Solving Ability – A graphic designer is a problem-solver. Responsibilities:

+ Involved in conception and creation of print and web collateral for the organization on a global level

+ Supports both Houston based clients as well as Regional Development Offices and Field Offices.

+ Manages multiple, varied projects with complex timelines and production schedules, which requires managing both vendor and client relations.

+ Repurposing of tier 1 project assets for tier 2 & 3 level projects

+ Maintains the high-end brand standard of Living Water through print design, web design and development, social media, event production and design, process design, customer/donor experience.

+ Discerns when custom design may be required and/or when template recreation is better suited.

+ Gauges when to outsource development and/or utilize volunteers.

+ Manages web content edits, corrections and additions

+ Digital asset management and digital resource management.

+ Team collaboration.

Minimum Education / Experience:

+ May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

+ Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
